Red or Blue? Election Resources to Help You This Season

The presidential election will be here before we know it! Even though Election Day is November 8, there are many current events that will take place between now and then that will undoubtedly create an opportunity for teaching and learning in your classroom. To help with that, we have compiled a list of resources that will get your students talking and writing about this important aspect of government. 

  • Student News Daily has a great library of resources to give your students background on our country's parties and their political platforms, election maps and polls, and more. 
  • These 12 tips on using the Presidential Election in your classroom provide suggestions on how to incorporate the election into various subjects like math and social studies.
  • Make Beliefs Comix has printable comics that will help you incorporate current events and writing prompts into your lessons.
  • Kids Voting USA is a nonpartisan voter education program that is currently providing free lessons and activities for teachers and their students.
