Start Your New Year Off Right!
The summer is going by so quickly! Before you know it, it will be time to start a new school year. Some teachers and students are already heading back to school.
Are you ready?
To help you prepare for a new year, we have compiled some of our posts and resources throughout the website that share great tips for getting back into the swing of things with your students!
- First and foremost, set yourself up for a successful year. Stockpile your ELA resources, plan to tie reading and writing together, and look for various ways to incorporate writing into the classroom.
- Start with the basics...and then encourage your students to put their own personal spin on it. Our post, Learn the Rules, Then Break Them!, talks about the importance of having a strong writing foundation while also nurturing the artistic side of writing. Allowing students to put their own stamp on their writing will spark excitement and increase engagement.
- Remember the importance of immediate feedback. PEG Writing was developed around the principle of formative assessment, and we've shared many posts and resources surrounding the process.
