Teachers are using many different strategies and tools to help students improve their writing skills. In this month's District Administration, writer Jennifer Fink highlights the various tools, such as PEG Writing, and methods of instruction that are helping students and teachers alike.
Following the successful pilot of PEG Writing during the 2014-15 school year, the award-winning Web-based writing assessment and instructional support platform is being released to more than 100,000 students in grades 6-12 through a Texas Education Agency grant to the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk and the Vaughn Gross Center for Reading and Language Arts in the University of Texas at Austin College of Education.
Josh Wilson, an assistant professor in the University of Delaware's School of Education, asked teachers at More and Heritage Elementary School to use PEG Writing for the 2014 - 2015 school year.
